People snapped up this handy and cool invention in droves. Today, the assortment of shapes and themes has expanded. More than thirty five years later, these glowing decorations are just as popular as when they first arrived on the market.
Imaginative buyers began decorating closets, clothing, backpacks, overnight bags, and even furniture. The glow in the dark sticker craze was taken up by kids, teenagers and adults with equal enthusiasm.
Manufacturers took stock of their lucrative market and came out with three-dimensional puffy vinyl or PVC stickers with raised surfaces to enhance the effect of the glow.
Of all the designs available, stars and the heavenly bodies are still the most popular, patterning many a ceiling with a soothing nighttime display.
For children and other comic book enthusiasts, you'll find entire books, filled to the brim with peel-and-place stickers.
